Night City

So, we dropped our luggage at the motel, took a shower and went for an evening stroll by the streets and through the hotels of Las Vegas.

The glowing palm trees have reminded us the Christmas Holidays, but was September.

Across the street was a huge MGM hotel, and in front - "Strip".

Our familiarity with the city, we started on the corner of Tropicana Ave. and Las Vegas Blvd.
Pedestrians cross the road by the bridges and they use the escalators, as in the subway.

Two amazingly beautiful hotels - Luxor and Excalibur, and a huge replica of the Statue of Liberty located here.

The Statue of Liberty is not quite an exact copy of the New York statue, so it is often called "Lady Liberty".
In addition, this is a place of memory to the victims of September 11, 2001, as reads the plaque at the base of the monument.

We crossed to the other side of the boulevard to see hotels Luxor and Mandalay Bay, and then we were going to move toward the center of the Strip.

Frankly, the hotels here - are not quite "Hotels".
These are huge complexes that includes hotel rooms, shopping and entertainment centers, banquet halls, meeting rooms, casinos and even stations of the trains (shuttles), which takes you to a different hotel.

So, we used the shuttle at the Mandalay Bay hotel, and moved to the Excalibur hotel.

On the "Excalibur" station, we went down to the first floor, walked through the halls of the casino and went outside.

We were not prepared at once to spend money in the casino, we would like to walk by the Strip in the direction of the "Eiffel Tower".

An illumination of buildings and towers is amazing.

The closer to the center of the Strip, the boulevard was better lit and had more people.

Ahead - the hotel and casino "Monte Carlo".

A little further - the hotel "Aria".

We go over the bridge to the other side of the Strip, and set down on the "Planet Hollywood".

"Eiffel Tower" is not far from here.
This is a Paris Hotel.

On the contrary, through the Strip, the goal of our walk - Bellagio Hotel.

The famous Dancing Fountains are located next to the Bellagio Hotel.
We have waited a little bit and were rewarded...

On the street, in hotels and casinos are so many people...
It are not only tourists from other countries, but also Americans, who decided to spend their vacation in Las Vegas.
People of all ages: pensioners and young guys.
Many arrived with friends.
For many, a trip to Las Vegas - a "grant" for excellence in studies, sports and work.
Most people came to Las Vegas for the first time, they like the city.
We often had heard words of admiration - "Fantastic"!
A trip to Las Vegas has been a dream for many people and their dream has come true.

America - it is a country, with fairly strict mores and religious beliefs.
This is not the "freedom" of big cities, one-story America lives very closed, where family relationships are highly valued.
The Americans are law-abiding, they are sincere and happy as children.
I'm the same and I like these people.

Therefore, a resident of the tiny town, a farmer in a cowboy hat, a housewife feel in Las Vegas as on another planet.
The atmosphere of permissiveness, the freedom of love and the rivers of beer for them in wonder, the people were very surprised.
"Fantastic"!

Is there anything else that you can see in the evening in Las Vegas?
Oh sure.
You can walk by the Strip farther and you can see the Mirage Hotel, the Venetian Hotel, the Treasure Island Hotel and others.
You can visit a variety of shows and concerts and spend the money at the casino.
You can drive to the Stratosphere Hotel and look at the Las Vegas from the observation deck.
And you can go to Downtown and see "Fremont Street Experience".

The Fremont Street - it's famous pedestrian street in Las Vegas.
The street is located in the downtown and there are many of popular casino here.

However, after the hotels and casinos were built on the Strip in the late 20th century, the number of tourists has decreased in the downtown.
Fremont Street Experience has been created to attract tourists in 1995.
In fact, this is open-air cinema, or the screen above the street...

I passed through Las Vegas in 2010 and visited the Fremont street.
And I was hoping to come back here.
Unfortunately, we were unable to see the Fremont Street during our first trip to America.
We were on the Strip.
My hopes were realized during our second trip to the United States in June 2015.
When we arrived in Las Vegas, we visited the Fremont Street Experience.

You can get there by bus.
You need to take a double-decker bus "DEUCE" on the Strip in the direction of downtown.
